Dr. Holly Shen is a board-certified OBGYN currently practicing as a full-time Independent Physician Contractor and Locums Physician with a focus on rural and critical access care. She entered medicine via international medical training in the Dutch West Indes, followed by OBGYN Residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Shen practiced traditionally in OBGYN private practice for 7 years in Southwest Florida, followed by 4 years in Boulder, Colorado. A leap of faith led to the pursuit of travel OBGYN work, first as a Diplomat OB Hospitalist, then as a critical access focused track, with discovery of her biggest passion.

Alongside travel clinical practice, Dr. Shen evolved as a Locums and Independent Physician educator via a strong social media following on her page OB Locums Women Physicians. The page is dedicated to education, empowerment and mobilization of OBGYN care to areas in need, all while supporting physician autonomy, professional ownership and career satisfaction. She also partnered with the Physician Leadership of Flexmedstaff to expand Locums education to all specialties. Outside these endeavors, Dr. Shen has held several leadership roles in medicine; these include Corporate Medical Director of OB High Reliability for Universal Health Systems nationwide and Chair, Medical Director of several inpatient OB units. She continues to provide consultations in OB High Reliability, Quality, Safety and Compliance through her company MedIT Consulting, LLC.
